Sometimes a muscle called the Levator Labii Superioris is a little too active. It causes the top lip to elevate a little too much, resulting in a gummy smile. This can easily be corrected with a couple of tiny injections into this area.
The results are a more pleasing smile and also the top lip everts less, giving more show of the pink part if the top lip.
